Get answers to common questions about Back Waxing.
Arrive with clean, dry skin and hair about 1/4 inch long. Avoid heavy lotions or oils before your appointment. Exfoliate gently two days prior and skip retinoids a few days earlier. Communicate any skin sensitivities to your esthetician.
Some discomfort is normal, but waxing pain is brief and tolerable for most clients. Sensation varies by hair thickness and area. We offer calming techniques, short breaks and gentle pressure. Regular waxing often reduces pain over time as follicles weaken.
Expect smoothness for three to six weeks depending on individual growth cycles. With regular waxing intervals of four to six weeks hair becomes finer and sparser. Factors like hormones, genetics, and medication can alter duration; schedule maintenance accordingly.
Yes in many cases, but disclose sensitive skin, active acne, eczema, or open wounds beforehand. We can perform a patch test, use gentle wax formulations, or recommend alternatives. If skin is inflamed, reschedule until irritation clears for safe waxing.
Avoid hot showers, saunas, sun exposure and strenuous exercise for 24–48 hours. Use a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer and calmers like aloe. After 48 hours begin gentle exfoliation to prevent ingrown hairs and maintain smooth results between appointments.
Contraindications include sunburned or recently tanned skin, recent chemical peels, open wounds, active infections, use of retinoids or strong topical acids, blood-thinning medication and certain medical conditions. Always consult our esthetician or your doctor if unsure before booking.
